Where the Pavement Softens — Framed Work, 1/1
From the Lean Streets Series
$2222.00
Where the Pavement Softens is part of Lean Streets, a photographic series documenting the residential neighborhood where the photographer, Shin, grew up in Yakima. The work focuses on modest homes and facades shaped by routine, endurance, and long-term inhabitation; spaces that offered little promise on the surface, yet shaped Shin’s understanding of space, class, and belonging.
Photographed with an architectural eye, the images treat everyday housing not as backdrop, but as subject. Each piece holds a place that is ordinary to the world, and impossible for Shin to forget.
This work is presented as a singular object— a one-of-one framed piece constructed by the artist. The photograph is printed on Canson Platine Fibre Rag and housed within a custom archival mat and frame.
