you had the courage to

How people lose their humanity, and how it kills the rest of us too.

Song Recommendation: The Strokes - Is This It

- shin

Curiosity ignited in me from the start—
and from that spark came the beginning of the end.

How many lies will you swallow
before you choke on the weight of your sanctimony?

One life belongs to every human.
But you die again and again— with each lie, each cruelty, each kill.
No human dies so often.
No human is you.

The eyes that cradle my love at morning light
are the same eyes that stiffen with horror by dusk.

When I merely glimpsed the outcome of your actions, I died.

I died once.
I died twice.
And after the hundredth time, I stopped counting.

Now I die almost daily, not as a tyrant but as a witness. We are made nonhuman, not by what we do, but by what we are condemned to endure. And I must confess, humans are far more resilient than they deserve to be.

The world is flooded with horrors, images etched too deeply to forget.

Again and again I ask: Why? But I am at fault to have never produced an answer.

I have yet to find an explanation. And so, I have yet to end my deaths.
